House Rowan — The Red Fox
The fox mask on moss green: restless, probing, and seen on distant roads long before it is expected — a house of generated realms only.

What it is
House Rowan flies the fox mask on moss green, and the mask fits: restless and probing, Rowan is seen on distant roads long before it is expected. The house has no authored home — it rides only in generated realms built for three banners or more, seated wherever the world's seed places it. Rowan's ambition is the fox's own: to be moving while slower houses are still counting their walls.
Banner: a moss-green banner bearing the fox mask (moss green).
Heraldry and character
Crest and colours
Rowan's banner is moss green, and on the moss green stands its device: a fox mask. The spoken colour name is moss green — armies, settlements, and the crest shown beside this profile render that one colour wherever Rowan holds or marches, and the crest and its colour always travel together so the banner can be read with or without its hue.
The Red Fox
House Rowan is called the Red Fox, and the epithet is the persona in three words: restless, probing, abroad. The house's riders are seen on distant roads long before they are expected, and arrival before expectation is the whole signature.
Whether any given Rowan campaign fights that way is a question of doctrine, not blood. The fox is how the house likes to be read — not a promise of its orders.
Counsel for the campaign
Where Rowan rides
Rowan has no authored seat and no authored war: the house appears only in generated realms built for three or more banners. Its home, its neighbours, and the shape of its country are drawn by the world's seed — no fixed home, no fixed advantage, and nothing that carries between worlds but the moss green and the mask. In a three-banner realm Rowan is the second rival; in a four-banner realm, one of three.
The measure of the banner
The rules cannot tell the banners apart, and Rowan least of all: no bonus, no unique unit, no fixed doctrine. Even the persona's riders are literature, not a roster — what horse any house fields follows from the pasture domains it holds, so a Rowan seated away from horse country fields no horse. Read the map, not the mask, when you weigh what the fox can muster.
Facing the fox
Multi-house realms fight crown-claim wars: a stable strict majority of the original capitals, confirmed at the claimant's next owning-turn start, ends them. Watch the claim clock — a rival that stands one stable capital short of the majority raises a claim the moment it settles one more — and watch your unsecured captures, because ground taken but not yet settled is exactly the ground a probing rival walks back.
Keep the roads in mind on both sides of the ledger. Roads are the fastest ground in any world, which is how a distant banner arrives before it is expected — and how your own reinforcements answer it.
And as with every banner, doctrine is chosen per campaign at setup — Warden, Raider, or Opportunist — so a fox's literary restlessness guarantees none of them. Judge the rival in front of you by its moves.
